Wild & Well Kids
Nature days for children aged 5–12 at Werneth Low Country Park
At Living Nature, we believe children thrive when they’re outside, moving, making things, and genuinely connecting with the world around them. Our Wild & Well Kids Club is a full day in nature for children aged 5–12 — rooted in the seasons, led by experienced facilitators, and designed to feel genuinely different from an ordinary day.
We’re not trying to replicate school. We’re not a forest school either. We’re something more personal than that — a small, warm, outdoor community where children feel safe to be exactly who they are.
Why wild & well?
Today’s children are busy, overstimulated, and often anxious. Wild & Well is the antidote to that. A full day outdoors at Werneth Low Country Park — rain or shine — with space to breathe, explore, make things, and just be.
We keep groups deliberately small (no more than 16 children) so every child feels seen, supported, and genuinely included. Our sessions are led by facilitators with backgrounds in education, therapy, and outdoor learning. And our three-tier community pricing means these days are accessible to every family.
A typical day
Sessions run 9am–3pm at Werneth Low Country Park, based near the Visitor Centre with access to toilets and a sheltered space for wet weather.
Every day is themed around the season and what nature is doing right now. Children might:
- Begin with a mindful walk, a movement game, or a grounding circle
- Spend time exploring, foraging, or mapping the landscape
- Make something — art, dens, natural sculptures, seasonal crafts
- Try journalling, storytelling, or simple emotional regulation tools
- Play cooperative games and finish with a group reflection
There’s always a mix of guided sessions and free exploration. Every child leaves with a sense of achievement and belonging.
What makes this different?
Our facilitators aren’t just activity leaders — they’re trained in education and therapeutic practice. That means when a child is struggling, anxious, or overwhelmed, we know how to hold that gently without making it a big deal. Nature does a lot of the work. Our job is to create the conditions for it.
We also have our Wild & Well Stewards — young people aged 13–16 who attend alongside younger children in a supported leadership role. It creates a genuinely mixed-age community, and younger children love having older role models around.
Pricing
We use three-tier community pricing — families self-select the rate that fits their circumstances. You can also Gift a Place at checkout to support another family. If cost is ever a barrier, please just get in touch.
