Wild & Gather
A seasonal community day for everyone, walk, play, create, and gather, together.
A different kind of Sunday
Wild & Gather is the place for our whole community to come together, a chance to slow down, get outside, and feel the benefit of time in nature. It’s unhurried, it’s for everyone, families, individuals, whoever wants to come. Each one has its own seasonal focus, so no two Wild & Gather days look quite the same.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Every Wild & Gather is built around four simple things: walk and collect along a nature trail, play together, create something as a group from what we’ve gathered, and gather to share it before heading home.
Under 5s are always free. Children come as themselves, muddy, curious, loud, quiet. Adults come as themselves too.
WHEN & WHERE?
Wild & Gather runs seasonally, roughly every quarter, at locations across Stockport and Tameside. Dates and locations are announced ahead of each one, check What’s On for the next date.
Dress for outside, we’ll be out in all weathers..
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Wild & Gather is donation-based. Everyone is welcome, whatever you’re able to give, from £0 upwards. Please book a ticket per person attending so we know numbers and can prepare, there’s no charge to book, and donations on the day are always appreciated but never required.
NEXT GATHERING
This time, we’re starting at Gee Cross Community Centre, tied to the Gee Cross Scarecrow Festival and World Rivers Day. We’re building a river together, made entirely from litter gathered on the day, turning what shouldn’t be in a river into something beautiful, made by everyone, on purpose.
We’ll walk through Gee Cross, spotting scarecrows and gathering litter as we go (organised into colour groups, so it’s genuinely playful, not just a tidy-up), and bring it all together into a collective piece of land art, photographed from above by drone once it’s finished. Along the way, there’s a mindful snack together and a story.

Come on your own, with friends, with family, however suits you. You don’t need to know anyone. Most people don’t when they first come.
