Sunday 31st January, 10am to 2pm
Wild & Gather is the place for our whole community to come together, a chance to slow down, get outside, and feel the benefit of time in nature.
We’ll gather at Werneth Low Country Park for a relaxed, guided day built around four simple things: walk and collect, play together, create something as a group from what we’ve gathered, and gather to share it together.
It’s unhurried, it’s for everyone, families, individuals, whoever wants to come, and each one has its own seasonal focus, so no two Wild & Gather days look quite the same. This one falls on Big Garden Birdwatch weekend, so we’ll be keeping half an eye on the skies and hedgerows as we go.
What to expect:
- A winter nature walk through Werneth Low, collecting as we go, spotting birds and signs of winter wildlife along the way
- A game or playful activity to keep warm and moving
- Seasonal creative making, this time a community bird feeder or feeding station made from what we collect
- Time to gather, share what we’ve made, and sit together for our own Big Garden Birdwatch count
- Bring a packed lunch, or grab something locally in Gee Cross
